Windows Phones Marketplace Surpasses 50,000 Apps
According to a recent report released by All About Windows Phone, Windows’ match for the Apple App Store and the Android Market, the Windows Phones Marketplace, has passed the 50,000 mark and now offers over half a million downloadable applications. This is nothing compared to the totals of its major competitors; the App Store has reached over 500,000, whilst the Android Market boasts more than 400,000. Yet considering that Microsoft’s store is the youngest of the three, achieving this number is a significant milestone, especially because of the amount of time it took to get there. Whilst Apple took 12 months to bring their total up to 50,000, and Android 19, Windows Phone has done it in a solid 14.

Keep Your Smartphone Charged with Green Power
You can’t do it quite just yet, but some recent developments in what is called energy scavenging technology suggest that before too long you might never again run out of battery on your smartphone. Short battery life is a fundamental problem with smartphones. Before phones became as smart as the ones we use today, it was not difficult to find a phone with very long talk times and huge standby times. As long as we were just a little careful, there was very little danger of running out of battery when we needed it.
